What the free tier includes, and what a subscription unlocks.
Hecate's free tier is a real product, not a trial: it never expires, and nothing you capture is held back from you. What it limits is quantity — how much you capture per day, how many profiles you keep active, how many brokers you talk to. Everything that makes the tool what it is — scanning, GPS, the offline outbox, all four languages, your own broker — is free and stays free.

Prices are for Germany and include VAT; in other countries the App Store shows its local price. The monthly plan is the main product, because you are never committed for longer than one month — the yearly plan is a voluntary saving, nothing more. What each subscription unlocks is the Pro column of the tables below, and its price is stated right here, openly and in full, so you can compare it with anything else. That is part of what we promise.
You subscribe and cancel in the app under Settings → Plan — cancelling also works in your Apple account's subscription settings. The subscription renews automatically until you cancel it; the free tier never expires and never needs a purchase.

The viewer is free in every case, on every screen, for good. It captures nothing and publishes nothing — it is the window onto what your devices send, and a window should not cost extra.
The limits in plain words
- 10 captures per day counts one calendar day on the device, in your own time zone — not a rolling 24 hours. When the limit is reached, the app says so before you start the next capture, and tells you when the day turns over. Nothing you already captured is affected.
- Up to 5 building blocks per profile applies both while authoring and while running. Once the fifth block is placed, the remaining cards in the wizard are greyed out --- but still tappable: the tap explains the limit instead of simply doing nothing. Remove a step above and they are selectable again at once. We originally drew this line only at run time; anyone who had built seven blocks learned about it after the work was done. A limit you see while building is the kinder one.
- One broker configuration means one saved connection, not one connection attempt. Re-provisioning a device by QR code replaces that one configuration — moving a device to another broker is never blocked. Several saved configurations are what a Pro subscription is for: test, pre-production and production side by side.
* Built and tested, not part of the subscription yet. These are not plans: the code is written, it carries its own tests, and it has run in shipped builds. But today's subscription lifts the quantity limits above and nothing else — these features arrive with a later update of Hecate Pro. Until then the subscription does not unlock them, and the app does not claim otherwise.
** Label printing on Zebra hardware is finished as well, but it will come in 2027 as a feature of its own, not as part of the subscription.
Profile version control is visible while it waits: in Hecate Admin it sits in Settings and in the broker configuration, greyed out and marked with a small lock. Tapping it explains what it does and that it comes with a later update — it does not disappear, it shows you its boundary. Label printing and routing in Hecate Capture, by contrast, are not shown at all today.
And the promise stands unchanged: nothing you can use today will ever be taken away. What sits behind the lock was never free.
